Proof that Irish metal is thriving, Slave Zero’s second full length record is so abrasive it should come with its own government health warning.
Clearly not ones to be tied into one sub-genre, there are elements of grind-core, hardcore, death metal and prog on the nine tracker, while Graeme V. Flynn’s vocal gymnastics call to mind everyone from Gorefest to Carcass to Machine Head. Technically outstanding, the record is a sonic two fingered salute to the music snobs of this world and while it can get a little heavy going towards the end, Slave Zero definitely deserve their place as one of Ireland’s high kings of metal.
