Rating: 5/5

Hailing from Ireland, Slave Zero have attracted considerable critical acclaim in the metal press and were short-listed for the 2006 top ten unsigned acts in BW&BK Magazine. Out with a new album entitled "Exempt from All Tolerance" they are sure to gain more positive attention for this brutal, powerful, and energetic album. This ferocious release has been mastered by Richard Dowling who has worked with Napalm Death, Carcass, and Entombed. Also, excellent album artwork done by Paul McCarroll.

Slave Zero is known for their powerful performances and this album is a great representation of their fierce energy. "Exempt From All Tolerance" mixes brutal death metal with hardcore, grind-core, and thrash to create one hell of a party. The mix of abrasive, in-your-face screaming and guttural vocals kicks ass. The drumming is outstanding...full of double kicks performed at machine gun speed. There are great guitar solos and angry chords. At times the guitar is somewhat overpowered by the drums and vocals but this does not take away from the album. Favourite track? All of them. And the more you listen to the album the more it grows on you.

This release keeps you on edge and the power from these guys is amazing. Slave Zero has mastered the ability to mix death metal with a multitude of other metal genres. Overall, this album kicks ass and will get your head banging... just what you would expect from one of the finest bands to come out of Ireland. Have a little of this with your morning coffee and you'll be wide fucking awake.
