Slave Zero Reviews
Planet Loud Webzine
As many unsigned bands will no doubt testify, if you can do anything to get noticed, do it. In the case of Slave Zero, they have used one of the most enigmatic and utterly transfixing cover images you are likely to lay eyes upon to accompany their latest release 'The Pain Remits'. Yet the gruesome packaging will merely reel you in, it is down to the music to match the promise. Fortunately, Slave Zero are a brutal concoction of distorted riffs, battering – albeit slightly cautious – drums, and a blend of hardcore roars, deathly screams and gut-wrenching grunts that carry the music forward and keep your ears locked. Already making waves in the ever-flourishing Irish underground metal scene, Slave Zero have taken elements of Caliban, Obituary, Hatebreed and Cryptopsy and poured it into a well-balanced, confident sound that will take you down one path before thrusting you down another.
