"The Pain Remits" by Irish band Slave Zero starts the way it means to go on, fast, load, heavy and aggressive. Touted as the most brutal metal band in Ireland its easy to see why they acquired this moniker as this is a brilliant EP packed full of extreme thrash/ death that’s really good.

Chock full of doomy dirgy riffs that motor on into some cool mother solos. With one dedicated vocalist and the bassist and guitarist providing vocal sounds there is a really nice layered mix.

Soul of Ruin is an absolutely excellent track harking back to Dark Angel eras gone by and is especially thrashy with some absolutely wailing guitar solos. To be honest there aren’t any bad track on display and the song writing is extremely together. Influences on the music are easy to see and the only downfall to Slave Zero is that they havent truly found their own distinct style yet.

Slave Zero aren’t breaking any new ground with The Pain Remits but they are playing some awesome songs in one of the greatest genres in the world. If you’re a thrash/ death fan with some spare cash The Pain Remits is worth checking out but only after you’ve bought the new Slayer album!
