Slave Zero Reviews

Sounds Of Eternal War

From Ireland a CD with 5 tracks reached me from Slave Zero. I find it very hard to define their style. I would loosely descibe it as Death Metal with some Thrash elements.

In any case the CD is really extreme and after a few listens really catchy and convincing (strong). At the beginning I didn't really like the lead singer's voice, as it firstly seemed to be too modern. However with time you get used to this and actually I find that the lead singer's voice really fits into the Slave Zero sound. There are however two more singers. All at once there is a higher-pitched and nasty voice to be heard and also a typical Death Metal deep voice, which unfortunately is not heard often enough. The sound is very diversified and technically sophisticated. There are blast attacks, which simply blow everything away and some great groovy sections. Also in the mix are some impressive solos when the music takes a slower approach. You'd have to say that these guys can play and this EP is a real surprise to me, where something really outstanding and brutal has been created.

Result: Go and test this for yourself and make up your own mind - I like it.
