December News 09
Hi All,
Just a quick update on things that are going on at the moment. As you will see above we are currently recruiting a new full time drummer. Bob has set off travelling and we need a permanent replacement to step in, start writing with new music and keep SZ alive. We wish Bob all the best!
We have been getting some great reviews of 'Exempt from All Tolerance'. Reviews from Metal India and Metalbite.com are detailed below. Watch this space for further review updates.
METAL INDIA REVIEW:
In 2006 Irish metaller’s Slave zero’s release ‘The pain remits’ (EP) received a thumping response/support from metal press worldwide.3 years down the line band releases its first full length album ‘Exempt from all tolerance’ an effort that furthermore reinstates their mature and solid musical progress.
The compositions are reverent of Death metal/Grind core and thrash. Two-way vocal attack throws in a hardcore/grindcore and growl overture throughout the record. This for some might be interesting and annoying for some. Drumming is very hard pressed/bush beaten and thrives the pace. The whole musical match looks like royal rumble in a wrestling ring as every musician tries creating a slam of its own & tries overpowering the other. Groove element is intact unlike the flat grind core biggies.Although I wished the guitar tone to be a bit heavier.
This band is a perfect for the moshpit kids as the music progresses from heavy segments to crisp well tuned thrash trains and subsequently moving to breakovers which can twist a listener’s neck with ease.
When I heard the first track ‘Exempt from all tolerance’ I never expected the album to grow over me so rapidly, but to my utter surprise it did courtesy....the experience it offers in terms of punkish nature, upbeat momentum and the unique ability to keep the listener on the edge.
Their support performance for Exodus, Hatebreed, Skinless, Cephallic carnage, Misery index, Abbadon Incarnate and Sanatorium is a super reflection of how closely their music follows these successful acts. Another unique parameter where Slave Zero score is track length, unlike the bands from their genre their songs provide musical totality. Tracks that got my maximum attention are.’ Antidote to suffering’, ‘Straight for jugular’ and ‘Vengeance.
Those of you into music ranging from Gojra, Abbadon incarnate, and Hatebreed to Misery Index shall applaud the effort. Rest of you can wait for their next release. (8/10)

MetalBite Review by JD on 11/13/2009
The newer styling of Death Metal mixing with Nu-Metal has been an interesting ride as the movement really starts to unfold on the metal scene. Slave Zero seems to be embracing this movement with heart and class, ending up creating their own brand of metal.
With very interesting arrangements through out the album, the band clearly have major amounts of talent, not to mention this sort of explosive energy that fuels the group. They are a Death Metal version of some hardcore metal in the vein of Hatebreed.... a feat that some have tried and horribly failed at, but it is clear that Slave Zero finally have done just that and done it very well.
With so many songs on this album that could be classified as amazing, I wont go into them, but just say that I was never bored throughout the disk. With my attention firmly affixed on each brash and highly volatile note this band produced, I found that I was becoming more and more impressed with each track.
The only side problem was the production... I thought it was a ‘muddy’ sort of recording that was put down... thankfully this little fact never did hurt Slave Zero’s album in the long run. Just go to the store, buy Slave Zero’s "Exempt From All Tolerance" and enjoy this offering. That is as simple of an endorsement that I can give.

SLAVE ZERO - EXEMPT FROM ALL TOLERANCE
(9 track CD) DOUBLE STANDARD PRODUCTIONS
Ireland's SLAVE ZERO are back with a follow up to 2006's "THE PAIN REMITS" in the form of
"EXEMPT FROM ALL TOLERANCE". The guys play extreme Death Metal with some other Metal
influences mixed within. They have changed their sound slightly since the last release. They have
gotten a bitter faster, heavier & more brutal. There are more elements of Grind & Black Metal in their
sound along with the usual Death & Thrash Metal elements they are known for. The vocals have also
changed a bit too. There are more lower ended Death growls with mid to higher Grind screams.
SLAVE ZERO have taken their sound to new heights. After one listen you will know why they are
understandably one of the best bands to come out of Ireland!
